Duck Frayands

Some new friends I made while traveling through the hill country... my favorite part is around the 1:20 mark - I highly recommend it.

PS - do any of y'all feel weird when you hear yourself recorded.  I sound like such a loser/weirdo/robot.  Creeps me out.

Springtime in Texas

Last week, I went on a road trip around Texas to get back to my roots before I move to Taiwan next month - and this is what I saw!

Boots on a Fence

Flowers Fighting

Lazy Lily Pads on the Guadalupe

Hot Springs
More Boots!

Turtles Taking Sun

Old Roots, Man

Stonehenge II & Easter Island Moai - Obviously.

Green

The Texas hill country is a magical place... the Guadalupe river and driving forever down the vast twisty-turney, flower studded country roads.  Sneaking out at night to stare at the stars - caressed by the sweet, smokey air.

So. Good.

Murals

My latest trip to Philadelphia and New York leaves me with Murals on the mind.  My love for this particular art form dates back to the summer of 2002, when I fell in love with Diego Rivera on a trip to Mexico City.  Later, I studied his murals and works at my university.  Murals can change history and the way people view it. They can completely change a broken city to one beautiful, surviving and vibrant.

In South Philadelphia, in an alley strewn with crime, broken glass, and syringes, I find a beautiful lovers mosaic...
and a South Philly Mermaid.

And my favorite...

Diego Rivera is at the MoMA right now.  If you can, check him out.

Murals, Street Art, and Graffitti have all become a way today to express the view of the people, and when used in the right way can evoke beauty and create a positive outlook that can change the world!
